As if Josh Ritter and his folk-singer wife Dawn Landes weren’t already cute enough together, now we get to hear their voices together on a free new download. And it is sublime. They sure as heck better have some golden-voiced offspring.

Josh sets out on a European tour (more than 500 miles) today, before looping back around through these domestic lands in late autumn. You may recall how much I loved the Telluride shows, so you know I will be there for the Denver stop on 11/11.

All tour dates here: GO.

  • You’re a busy posting bee lately, looks like Josh is coming my way on the 16th of this month, may have to come up with an excuse to find my way to our capital to catch his show. I still regret not trying hard enough to get Josh Rouse tickets earlier this year. Usually musicians go straight from Paris to Amsterdam, and that’s quite a little road trip by train. What a gorgeous track this is, you think there’s something to musicians with a strong intimate connection singing together more harmoniously? I definitely feel a little jitter in the air when I hear couples sing together, maybe that’s just my romantic side taking a ride with the rest of me :-). What a gorgeous track, I always love this kind of echo on acoustic folk songs.

  • P.S. A glance at my calendar reveals I’m seeing Blonde Redhead on the 18th and Wilco (!) on the 17th. I spoil myself. Luckily music isn’t fattening.

  • When I started to listen to this song, I knew I had heard it before, but could not place it. A quick search of my library and I pulled it up. The great Phila band The Hooters also covered this song for their album Zig Zag. Never realized this is more a folk standard from the ’60s.

I always learn something new on this blog.

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
