Blind Pilot’s playing at my house (my house)
You’re blinded by the dazzling attractiveness of this sextet, no? Wait until you hear them perform a stripped-down, all-acoustic set at my house on Tuesday, August 7! And then add to the mix that Tyler Lyle is flying out from California to open the show, and I think you got yourself the house concert of the summer.
Blind Pilot has been a favorite of mine ever since I heard this song in 2009, via my friend Dainon. Since then, Blind Pilot has continued to release amazing music, and most recently I just saw them wow a crowd of thousands at Red Rocks, opening for The Shins and The Head & The Heart. You also know that Tyler Lyle is one of my favorite new songwriting talents, and I am beyond thrilled to have him coming back.

First of all, I can’t believe that was 2009. Second of all, remember when I followed them around for a few days this year? I’m jealous you get to see them in your own backyard … and I’m currently contemplating how I can get myself over there, too. Can there be a acoustic, barefoot in the grass, session? If so, I’m there.

SO JEALOUS!!! They were amazing at 9:30 Club on their last tour, and I’m sure the experience in a house show will be transcendent.

Hey Heather! I just got home from the Blind Pilot show at the Newport in Columbus, OH tonight, and I had to tell you how DAMN AMAZING this band is. They closed with a completely unplugged version of “Three Rounds and a Sound.” All six of them grabbed their instruments, jumped off the stage, and set up in front of the stage in the crowd. It was pure bliss. Please tell them next week that all my life I have dreamed of being in the room when music was made like that, and they brought that dream to life. Please let them know that they gave that gift to people, and have a blast at the house show next week. So jealous.
