and even though it all went wrong, i’ll stand before the lord of song
I’ve heard this song, and covers of this song, roughly 847 times. It hasn’t made me feel the way this video does in a very long time. I love Daniel Blue, I love Motopony, and I will never tire of honesty in a church.

One of my favorite verses that often gets left out. So so so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

My god that doesn’t half look like a Mullet haircut? I thought they went out with Bono. Overall a decent cover but up there with Buckley or Wainwright I think not. Indeed aren’t their other songs in the Cohen back catalogue worthy of investigation rather than just head for this song every time? what about Sisters of Mercy or Alexandra Leaving.

Oh, another fucking cover of this thing. Just what the world was waiting for. The original and David Bazan’s are pretty much all we need. Everybody else can knock it right the fuck off.

Honestly, I skipped to the last verse (my favorite), and I didn’t think it was that impressive. and then I noticed that i’d gotten chills/goosebumps for the first time i think ever from a song, almost immediately.
