I told myself it was all something in her / but as we drove I knew it was something in me

This happened tonight not far from my home in Colorado. Gregory Alan Isakov is a state treasure, and I am a sucker for Springsteen covers that make me take in my breath sharply when I really should be sleeping.

  • Sucker for Springsteen covers?

I’m guessing you’ve heard it, but if you haven’t heard Frank Turner cover “Thunder Road” yet….you should!

  • Very good cover of Highway 29!
I just saw Bruce at Light of Day on Saturday night in Asbury Park – - – man was he on fire! Bruce played til 215am!!! Everyone looking at their watches like, “when is this guy going to stop playing!?!?!!?” Right as you thought Bruce was done, he said, “whaddya say we play a few more?” Crowd went nuts. Great show/Great Cause.

  • Any inside news on when Isakov is planning to come out with a new album? I can’t seem to find anything that gives any hints.

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."
—Nick Hornby, Songbook
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."
—Hunter S. Thompson

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
