"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."
—Nick Hornby, Songbook
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."
—Hunter S. Thompson

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.

This sog slayed me the first time i heard it. I think it was the lyric about “the death of my first dog”. Saw them open for Bright Eyes @ Wolftrap and i really liked their live set.

I heard this on the radio a few weeks ago and immediately went home to track it down. It has a very Jackson Browne feel to it that I love.

Man, I like this. The recorded version is on a little tour sampler put out by Blitzen Trapper and Dawes. You can get it for free over on Noisetrade… http://noisetrade.com/blitzentrapperdawes
Thanks, Heather!

Dawes is a TREMENDOUS band. I’ve seen them live a few times over the last couple years and they’re just an excellent group. Both albums they’ve put out are fantastic. Remind me of a young Crosby, Stills & Nash.

love is so much simpler than you realize/if you can give yourself to someone than you should
This song makes me sob like a baby. It’s beautiful.

This song just tears my heart out. “It’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they won’t sing” who hasn’t felt like that at some time?
