A new look and a new home for Fuel/Friends

Welcome to the new Fuel/Friends. It’s been a long time coming, long-desired in my little blogger heart. Please update your bookmarks, subscribe to the new feed, and let me know how these digs work for you. The old blogger site will no longer be updated.

Immeasurable thanks to Luke Flowers for designing the new Fuel/Friends illustration, and to the guys at Dayjob for the wonderfully fresh new design and layout. I would highly recommend both of them to other bloggers and those aspiring to their own web fifedom.

  • Maybe I’ll get used to the new look but lost is the warmth, unity, and “calm corners” of the old design.

Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than in your photo which used to be full color and warmly inviting whereas now the image is a duotone, flat, and a little cold. The white background is stark and the entries just float. I’m sure a great deal of effort went into this and everyone listed in the comments sections seems happy with the new look. I just wish I could count myself among them. Still, where you lead I will follow with my ears. Best to you for the new year and thank you for being here.

  • SO glad to see my friend Luke Flowers in on your redesign! What a talent Luke is. You used the best, Heather.

    Good work.

I remember sitting at your house (with our Crown group) looking at your blog for the first time on your laptop and discussing a possible new look …. that had to be what, like the beginning of ’06? Or was it ’07? Either way … glad to finally see it got done!

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
