I’m inside your radio

world_cafe

Thanks to the great folks over at NPR’s World Cafe, I get the distinct pleasure again this year of joining David Dye to talk about (and spin) some of my favorite albums of 2008! It all goes down tomorrow, January 1st, and you can listen online!

I’m boarding a plane in San Jose to fly back to Colorado, and I wish all y’all a safe and happy New Year’s!

  • An excellent new look – vivid and fresh. Now tell me Heather have you ever read Dave Marsh’s ‘The Heart of Rock and Soul’ 1001 singles? Because if you haven’t then I think you will kinda just love it.It originally came out in 1989 before lists and archiving had become clutter and for a Hornby fan I think it is fairly essential;the passion distinguishing each entry is exhilirating and fires the reader’s interest as do the best of your blogs.

Have also just read ‘Netherland’ by Joseph O’Neil which is as good a book as the “Great Gatsby’-

    Happy New Year!

  • I feel a little weird about the new look, but the banner is awesome and I’m sure I’ll get used to it quick. Good stuff.

  • Any chance of you posting an MP3 of this year’s show, Heather? I missed it when it aired.

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."
—Nick Hornby, Songbook
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."
—Hunter S. Thompson

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
