  • Was in Chicago this weekend for a buddy’s birthday celebration. Didn’t get to Lollapalooza, but got to see Ed sing a rousing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” at Wrigley Field on Friday. Now I can hear the set I hated most to miss — thanks.

  • I think there were some skips with the feed and in ripping it – it’s not just you. It’s 99% fine and the awesomeness of it makes up for that other 1% that skips. I know better copies will turn up soon (probably already have), but for now…

  • I agree thank you very much for the great posts and i am not complaining just some rather ironic skips during politically charged moments. wish i was there thanks again.

  • Heather – thank you so much for getting this out there. It was great to watch the set on the ATT site – and I agree that the band was really jacked-up for this, but now having it to revisit is a real treat. Thanks!

  • I’m bowing to your greatness right now! Thanks so much…your PJ love is truly inspiring. :)

  • Hey Heather I wrote you a couple of days ago about the missing audio portions of P.J.s Lolla set, and bang dont you know it censored by AT&T. “Corporations rule the day” Info about the censorship at Pearl Jams website. Thanks, Jimmy

Apparently, a censor working for AT&T edited some anti-Bush comments from the song “Daughter”.

The article from Chicago Tribune made it to Fark, and I figured I’d share it here.

Thanks again for posting this, Heather!

  • what artist is ever going to want to play lolapalooza ever, if there is a chance that a measly sponsor is going to muck around with their songs/audio/content?

i’m surprised the production company isnt tripping over itself to either get a huge apology from ATT or suing their pants off – their business is one the line! theylle never be able to book another artist if they dont get this resolved and pronto.mgcdfco

  • Refference question, does anybody remember what year Ben Harper toured with peej?

    Marginal Minds — August 15, 2007 @ 2:37 pm

  • Wow, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have a most awesome blog, and logically, you must also be one of the coolest people alive!

Found yer blog last year when you posted some vids of the Denver show(s?) (which I went to the first night of :) ) and managed to stumble on it again when you posted the PJ show from lollapalooza.

    Take care, and stay awesome

  • Your blog just rocks! Thanks Heather! Pearl Jam played at ΟΑΚΑ sports hall in Athens 09/30/06 and I hate myself for not being there. It was their first time playing in Greece (!); “The waiting drove us mad! ” that was the “motif” of the night! I’ ll try to send you the whole concert on mp3.

  • To bad this is a MONO recording, and I’m sure this wasn’t broadcast in MONO…what a waste. If you’re going to rip a webcast get the right software fer chrissakes.

    blknpkins — June 4, 2008 @ 6:45 pm

  • well, grumpy, I didn’t rip it myself, many fans were just happy to hear it, and so soon after the performance nonetheless (for those of us who couldn’t be there)…

We can’t all be aurally perfect. Unfortunately.

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
