Temporarily out of service

I feel a little nagging urge today because it’s MONDAY and I’ve not posted any sort of music round-up (except portions which I’ve written and posted in my head). I am on vacation in California this week, just enjoying listening to amazing music on the beach and thinking of ways to better please you all when I have time to write. I’ve got some good stuff in the works (always) and I’ll try to get it together soon.

I also have developed a wordlessly awesome one-sided sunburn today after falling asleep on the sand. To quote another favorite Heather of mine, you just go right ahead and try to comprehend how hot that is.

  • Hey, hope you’re having a great vacation, I miss the beach, it’s been way too long since I’ve been able to get horribly sunburned my first day on the beach, resulting in a day of laying in a/c, moaning about the terrible, terrible pain I’m in. Ahhh, the good old days. Anyways, when I read your post, a thought occurred to me (it took me a while to recognize it, but then I said eureka, so I realized it must have been an idea, because when else do I say eureka?) Anyways, my idea was that when you know that you’re going to be out of town or unable to create your usual monday music round-up, you should have a contest a few weeks in advance, and the winner could do a guest monday music round-up. I’m not sure exactly how the logistics would work, we could probably e-mail you the desired files, and you could possibly post them or something. But, I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else reading this blog thinks we should all be checking out. Anyways, if possible, it seems like it would be pretty jawesome.

  • Since I am usually the one accused of making jokes that no one else understands I thought I’d step in to help Heather(#1) out by linking to Heather(#2)

  • You touch my heart at least once a week…well “I Don’t Want To Do It” kinda helps. Seriously, my daughter and I will be lovingly pouring over these.

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
