A Top Five would be so tough, but those are nice choices. I’ve been absolutely enthralled with The XX for the past couple of weeks, thanks again for the tip. Langhorne Slim & Roman Candle are definitely gems, and I guess I’ll have to give Fanfarlo another try – maybe I can do a double-header with the re-listening of Arcade Fire…

I am so happy you included Lisa Hannigan in your top five! I haven’t taken Sea Sew out of rotation since I picked it up in Nov ’08, which is definitely the longest I’ve gone with one album. I’ve listened to lots of great stuff along the way to complement and/or change things up, but Sea Sew has been the mainstay for the past 14 months. I’d have never said “whimsical without being silly” (frankly, I’d have never THOUGHT to say that), but that really describes it. I’d call it ‘Fun and uncomplicated music with thought-provoking and intensely honest lyrics’. However you describe it, it will remain in play in the soundtrack of my life for the foreseeable future.
