He also gave a wonderfully old fashioned and illuminating interview on his career as a writer on a UK programme called ‘The South Bank Show’ last Sunday. It was a joy to watch because of its seriousness.At the end of the programme he smiles for the first time and that moment has stayed with me since.Something about patience finding its deserved reward echoes from my reading somewhere.

He has also written the film script for a movie called ‘An Education’ which is getting electric reviews here.

His endorsement of your blog is recognition, I think ,too, of its equal seriousness.
