Really great writeup; it hits all the bases. We saw them this summer for the first time (they were minus the horns), & like you said, their songs are amazing live.

“I Can Get Us Out of Here Tonight” is my favorite Lucero song. My 10-year-old daughter says the live version is so much better than the album version. Agreed.

Apparently they’re stuck in Wyoming and have cancelled Seattle and Portland. So bummed.

Don’t know if you know but Kiss the Bottle is a Jawbreaker cover. If you don’t know it you should check out the original. Really great, really dark punk tune.
