You're very much mistaken. It was written by Bob Telson and sung by himself, and another version by Jevetta Steele, for the movie Calling You. One of those, or even the version from the TV series would be what Jeff heard, as his version sounds nothing like George Michael (from his Five Live EP), who was accompanied by Queen when singing it on occasion.
