Tonight I sat in a dimmed theater and watched a preview for the film adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic Where The Wild Things Are
I kinda like how this mini-mp3 I ripped (two minutes, totally listenable) ends with barbaric yawps. It is fitting to the spirit.

You know, sometimes using Arcade Fire works for a movie trailer (see Benjamin Button trailer for inst), but here? All softened and toned down for the kiddies? It just makes me mad. The indie-loving blogs love this, they really do, but messing with the genius of this song really sorta chaps my hide. I hope the band made out like bandits on this one is all.

my imagination started dreaming up scenes like these when i was that age [after reading the book]. this brought back happy childhood memories. =)

ouch Danion. I think it works great. Testament to the power of their songwriting to find a new context like this. Still will never to the live execution of that song say 3/4 years back. They were awesome back then.

This song goes so well with the trailer. I haven’t been this excited for a movie in a very long time and having Arcade Fire in the background makes it that much better.

I liked the song a lot but the movie looks AMAZING, I’m pumped for this. The book is so short that a movie will easily live up to the ideas put forth in the book and should really be a fascinating and magical watch.
