What a great interview! Insightful questions with thoughtful follow-ups…rivals anything I have read in Paste or Rolling Stone.

I can’t believe you got into the band from the clip you were talking about,I filmed that!Scott always gives me for a hard time for taking footage,I suppose some of the stuff I put up in the past wasnt the best quality but the clip with Fake Empire was amazin,I started filming cos I knew it was gonna be backwards walk but had no idea that he was gonna do Fake Empire!!The National are one of my favourite bands too! I was fortunate enough to interview them last year,you can read it here

I somehow missed your earlier post about Frightened Rabbit, but after reading this and finding a few tracks on The Hype Machine, I turned my iTunes birthday gift certificates around immediately and got both albums. I’m trying to put on my amateur rock critic hat and describe these guys in eloquent terms, but about all I can say is that they are f-in brilliant. Thanks for bringing them to my attention, Heather.

Thanks for posting the interview. I think that Poke is one of the very tracks on the album, and the album is top of my 2008-so-far list.
I’m not so sure about the track that follows Poke, in which our hero contemplates throwing himself into the Forth, then elects to “save suicide for another year.” It’s self-parody, so much so that there are listens when it sounds deliberate.
I too hope to be at the Boston show…
