Let's be clear: "Brilliant Disguise" is one of Bruce's greatest records, Elvis gives it a nice easy going countrified treatment, not coming close to the power and the magnificence of the original. I loved The Shins cover. I was, however, not feeling the EC cover. I felt like it was too slow and my brain was needing that Springsteen sandpaper to deliver the “is it yoooooou baby…” properly.
